Animal (new)

Animals can spend their CPs on the normal skills (unless specified otherwise in the Skill Table section). However they can also buy the following additional skills:

Rage (10 points per use)

The Animal gains the ability to Rage, this has the following affects:

  • An effective Willpower increase of 1.
  • A Strength increase of 1 category (i.e. a Dire Wolf with Strength effectively has Double Strength).
  • The ability to ignore pain and keep using a location even if its Body Points drop to 0 or below, including if that location is broken. However, any location that drops to -10 is still severed or crushed.
  • A Natural Endurance 15
Dire

Animal is particularly ferocious and will attack on sight. They gain the ability to do the following:

  • Chaos (5 x level points) – The Animal gains the ability do do Chaos damage with their Bite/Claw/Hoof/Tusk each time this skill is bought.
  • Power Armour (10 x level points) – The Animal gains 1 point of Power Armour each time this skill is bought.
Natural <Spell/Miracle> (2 x (level + 1) points)

The Animal can do a Natural Spell/Miracle. This must be relevant to the animal in question.

Example: Lion
Natural Animal Leap 1: 2 (Natural Animal Leap 0) + 6 (Natural Animal Leap 1) = 8 points

Were (40 points)

Animal is a were-creature and gains DR20 [not Silver].

A were-creature is a Humanoid than turns into an Animal on the night of a Full Moon and each night either side of it (other times at GM discretion). When in animal form their main goal is to hunt and kill (its ferocity linked to the strength of the Full Moon). When the Humanoid awakes the next morning it will have no memory of what it had done during the night.
Only a pure-blood Were-creature can turn another creature of the same species into a Were-creature by biting them, but not killing them.
Once a person has become a Were-creature, they will always be a Were-creature. There are rumours of curing it using the Wolfsbane herb, though exact details of how this works are scarce.

When a Humanoid is turned into a Were-creature, they have two set of stats, their normal Humanoid stats and their new Animal stats. Their Humanoid stats remain exactly the same, they do not gain any bonuses (including the DR20 [not silver]) or penalties. Their creature stats are the same Rank as their normal stats and ONLY include skills that can be bought for the specific Animal. At a minimum this must include the base stats for the Animal + the 40 points for being a Were-creature.

Example: Physara has been bitten by a pure-blood Werewolf. The minimum rank of a Wolf is 8.6 (see Wolf stats below), so the minimum Rank of a Werewolf is 8.6 + 4.0 = 12.6 and when she is in Wolf form, she has all the stats for a Wolf listed below and the DR20 [not silver].
Had Physara have been been bitten by a Werebear. The minimum rank would be 13.8 + 4.0 = 17.8.

If the Humanoids Rank is not at least equal to the minimum Were-creature Rank, they will die during the transformation process.

Example: On the night of Physara’s first transformation into Wolf form she is Rank 10. As the mimimum Rank for a Werewolf is 12.6. She dies during the transformation process. Note she can still be Resurrected (if applicable) and will still be a Werewolf and will die again on the next Full Moon, if not increased in Rank.
Physara is resurrected and before the next Full Moon rises to Rank 15. This mean she will transform successfully and have 24 points to spend on additional Wolf stats.

When purchasing additional skills for the Animal, use the appropriate skill costs listed in its stat block e.g. for Wolf use Small Animal stats. You may also buy other available skills like Dire, Rage & Natural <Spell/Miracle> (if appropriate).
When buying Animal skills, you should FIRST buy any skills that are the same as skills you have in Humanoid form that can be legitimately bought by the Animal.

Example: Physara at Rank 15 has the skill Double Strength. With the 24 points she has to spend on Wolf stats, she should first buy the Double Strength skill (at a cost of 20 points).

Whilst in Humanoid form you CANNOT use any skills/abilities you have in Animal form and whilst in Animal form you cannot use any skills/abilities you have in Humanoid form.
Once skills have been bought they CANNOT be changed.
The Rank in Animal form for a Were-creature CAN exceed the Animals normal maximum Rank.
